Sade describes the life of a woman in Somalia who lives a life that is far different from the one most of us are living. The woman in description is the pearl because she is out all day toiling under the scotching sun; struggling and enduring all the hurt just to feed her little girl. This also reminds us that there is beauty in the struggle and that embracing it makes us precious or in this case it makes us pearls. Embracing pain and struggle for a greater good or intention; a sympathetic or sonder feeling of purpose. We continue to strive even when it hurts. We are willing to endure what may come for pearls. We look to the heavens above and realize the limit. We want it even though we don't have it. We love it. We love it. We love it The creation of this art piece was inspired by Sade’s Love album art cover. The entire album is a tale of love from pain to joy and vice versa. The art piece portrays a picture of Sade that gives a sense of vulnerability and rawness to let go. Green on her body symbolizes how rooted she is to her morals; it is in her nature to be that way. Yellow describes her shinning beauty and her ability to overcome all the pain she feels through her will to give and show love. Orange symbolizes all the benefits and wealth that breeds out of giving and showing love and black shows her boldness and pride to stand firm through it all. There is a woman in Somalia; the sun gives her no mercy; the same sky we lay under burns her to the bone. Long as afternoon shadows; it is going to take her to get home. Each grain carefully wrapped up pearls for her little girl. - Sade Adu

This creation embodies Queen Nanny of the Maroons and also inspired by the clans story in present day Moore Town. Nanny was believed to have helped the Windward Maroons defeat the British during the guerrilla war which lasted for many years. The Maroons attributed their success against the British to the successful use of supernatural powers by Nanny, while historians believe that the Maroons mastery of guerrilla warfare and vast knowledge of the natural terrain played a significant role in their successes. Having failed to defeat them on the battlefield, the British sued the Maroons for peace, signing a treaty with them on 20 April 1740. The treaty stopped the hostilities, provided state-sanctioned freedom for the Maroons, and granted 500 acres (202 ha) of land to Nanny and her followers. Both legends and documents refer to her as having exceptional leadership qualities. She was a small, wiry woman with piercing eyes. Her influence over the Maroons was so strong, that it seemed to be supernatural and was said to be connected to her powers of obeah. She was particularly skilled in organising the guerilla warfare carried out by the Eastern Maroons to keep away the British troops who attempted to penetrate the mountains to overpower them. Besides inspiring her people to ward off the troops, Nanny was also a type of chieftainess or wise woman of the village, who passed down legends and encouraged the continuation of customs, music and songs, that had come with the people from Africa, and which instilled in them confidence and pride.

This piece of art of American artist, poet and creative; Kendrick Lamar, is referenced from his song, I which is part of his album; To Pimp A Butterfly. The art piece like the song symbolizes the beauty of self-love and serves as a reminder to us that we should embrace the being we see when we look into a mirror. Our stories and also our persona or whatsoever else makes up who we are. The foundation of growth or anything else in life starts with oneself and then it rubs off on the rest of the world. In a nutshell I would say, “I cannot help the world until I help myself.” In order to give love I gotta have love for myself first. This artpiece was a collaboration of Saviours creative coloring and story telling for the finishing and on the other hand the first part of it was done by @luggyhangsmusic whose artistry focuses more on a monochromatic view of the artpiece using only a black and white shade. Creating this collaborative piece was amazing because each one of us had an opportunity to creatively do whatever we wanted with it and the result was beautiful. Lift up your head and keep moving; turn the mic up. Peace to fashion police; I wear my heart on my sleeve; let the runaway start; you know the miserable do love company; what do you want from me and my scars? Everybody lack confidence; everybody lack confidence. How many times my potential was anonymous; how many times the city making me promises. So I promise this; I Love Myself. - Kendrick Lamar
