This piece of art is part of my surreal artwork collection. It is called Sea Through and this is because it portrays an imaginative description of collective growth through co-existence. A disciple once said to his Guru; "don't we all belong to the same objective world?" And his Guru replied by saying.. "Yes" but you see yourself in the world, I see the world in myself" The world is a mirror in which we look into; visualize and create meaning out of. The meaning is based on ourselves; who we are and who we see when we look into the mirror. To see through means to be aware of this; of our surroundings and what is in our hearts; our minds are like a sea in which we swim. Our space to exist and make sense of reality; our bodies have the ability to actually prove we exist and our environment is a product of that. Now do you see that world is in you? The eyes represent mirrors and each creature, through its own eyes is able to see in another, a part in itself. It is able to see its flaws; struggles; accomplishments; capabilities and much more than that. Their ability to surround themselves with all these like-minded creatures provides a relationship with their natural habitat which in return creates an identity similar to the creatures surrounding. Their tentacles represent the creature’s ability to influence change. The karma or the action or the effect that each one of them holds towards the cause which in this case is projected by the other creatures surrounding it and its environment. Blue represents the sea or water; it represents a place filled with obstacles, life encounters, challenges and everyday experience faced during the creature’s lifetime. All this in the end shapes up its being through the cluster. Sea through also symbolizes our ability to realise the facade. The pretense and insecurity around us. It helps us see our own weaknesses in others and this often leads to compassion and empathy. Sometimes we beat ourselves down too much. We've been strong enough so far; we've overcome things we never imagined we would; matter of fact we woke up this morning. Life is such an underrated gem waiting to be appreciated. Like the famous saying... "don't judge a book by it's cover" it is clear to see that everything ain't always what it seems. You have to adopt the patience and the eye for what is real. Time heals but it also reveals and once you realize that then life will just flow through but first you have to see through.
