This artpiece was done in a phase of my life when calling myself an artist was just starting to sink in. I was trying out certain techniques for the first time and alot of them would overwhelm me comprehensively. I discovered my love for color and my ability to create a symphony of them in the Process. I always tried to fit into the artist titles on the internet just so I don't feel alienated. I discovered popart and thereon adopted the name. This was one of the first pieces I did during that period and I decided to call it complexion. The name was relatable to what I was going through at the time especially after discovering that complexion meant more than just colour; it also meant point of view and appearance and boy was I looking for that. I eventually found my identity in creative artistry; I realized that my validation was never out there but always in me; the artist in me came from what I could create; who I am and what was in me. I tapped into it and everything started to make sense. I want the world to look beyond the color of my skin. I am more than that. What you see is only a fraction of my being and what you perceive of it is based on your understanding. Despite being aware of this broadening fact of my life and my abilities; I cannot help but reflect a certain image in my complexion that is largely influenced by colour. A spectrum of beauty waiting to unleash the multiple energies it attracts and the organic flow of being embedded deep in it's core is growing out and creating a complexion.

Selfless
- 21 x 29.7 cm
Selfless portrays an image of superman flying down. The reason I chose selfless as the title is simply to describe Superman’s character. He is a superhero with so much power; more like a God because he is not even from earth; but he often chooses to put all of it down and humble himself. He chooses not to use his strength unless ofcourse he really needs to or is left with no choice. I think that portrays alot of selflessness which sends out a message of having the power to let power go. This concept of superman really intrigues me the most; I am a firm believer in living this way; being selfless, humble and down to earth. In the end all our desires will come to us regardless of what society may say about us. We don't choose to be superheroes in our stories. It is our descend

The first from my Bob Marley collection. It is a wave of the flag representing Red, Gold and Green. The Rastafarian colors. I am not a Rastafarian but I respect their culture. I love reggae music and Bob Marley is my epiphany for that.
